NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A Myrtle Beach man whose arrest record already runs past 30 bookings is facing a fresh charge, this time over a September attack on a woman, the North Myrtle Beach Police Department said.
Shane Cook, 36, is charged with second-degree assault and battery. An incident report from the department says the woman, his partner, told officers he choked her and struck her in the head until she blacked out, then left before police arrived.
Cook was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center last week and was freed after posting a $10,000 bond.
Cases from the area are handled by the solicitor’s office for the 15th Circuit, which also runs a victim services program for people facing domestic violence. A crisis line for the region answers calls 24/7.
