MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Two people were left with minor injuries Tuesday after several vehicles, among them a Myrtle Beach Fire Department engine, collided on Robert Grissom Parkway.
The wreck took place on the parkway a short distance north of Pine Island Road, according to Capt. Jonathan Evans, who spoke for the department.
The southbound side of the parkway was shut while emergency crews handled the scene, cleared the vehicles and tended to the people involved.
Robert Grissom Parkway is a main north-south route through the city, and the closure forced drivers heading south to find other ways around the area for a time.
The department did not say what led to the crash, whether the engine was answering a call at the time, or how many vehicles in all were involved. No further details had been released.
